Fast Label featureImage Source: XDA Developers

Google is coming in with a minor tweak to its mobile version of web browsers.

If a particular website meets all the requirements of Core Web Vitals benchmark then Google will label it as “Fast Page”.

You will be able to see the label on android or iOS devices for now. To know whether a page is fast or not. You just have to long click the link. It will show a green tick and ‘Fast Page’ written.

It doesn’t matter if a website has traffic or not. If it has, then Google collects the data of loading time and stuff. Then it checks if you qualify for the label or not.

If you don’t have enough visitors, Google will evaluate it based on the history of the website’s host.

This feature is currently rolling out to the beta version of Chrome 85 on Android.

This feature will be released on the stable version of Chrome 85. You will be able to see this feature if they have Lite mode or “Make Searches and Browsing Better” turned on.

Well, it’s not easy to pass this Core Web Vitals Assessments by Google. According to the reports, only 15 percent of sites may qualify for the label if it was to be tested today.

There are three main thresholds which a site must pass.

  • Largest Contentful Paint(LCP)
  • First Input Delay(FID)
  • Cumulative Layout Shift(CLS)

LCP measures the speed at which a page’s main content is loaded. The time to beat is 2.5 seconds.

FID measures the speed at which a user is able to interact with a page. This should happen within 100 milliseconds.

CLS measures how often users experience unexpected layout shifts. The CLS must be less than 0.1.

Many websites would pass one or two tests but very few are able to pass all three of them. It is easy to pass the FID. Toughest to pass the CIS.

Reports say that this Fast label will help the site to rank better on Google. So for all the people having their site, they must really focus on improving these three features.

That update isn’t coming until 2021.

  1. Nicely written & done my friend.
I’ve just started writing myself recently and
noticed lot of people simply rehash old content but
add very little of value. It’s good to ssee a helpful write-up of some real value
to myself and your other readers.
It is going on my list off ffactors I need to emulate as a new blogger.
Audience engagement and material value are king.
Some terrific ideas; you’ve definitely made it on my list of sites to watch!

    Continue the good work!
    Congratulations,
    Alyss
