We live in a Nation where women safety is a big threat to the Society. The increasing crime rates, rapes and kidnapping have created havoc in the nation. None of us can forget the Nirbhaya rape case in Delhi, the molestation in Mumbai and other cases which have left our thoughts numb. We are so helpless to save our women from these uncivilized creatures of the society.
One such anti-social animal is P. Ravindranath, who is a senior IPS officer in Bangalore. He was arrested for taking photographs and videos of two girls on his cell phone at a coffee shop. Ravindranath was not in his uniform and hence it was difficult to identify him. He walked into the Au Bon Pain coffee shop around 12 noon and couldn’t resist himself from using the camera mobile to capture those two girls, who were involved in a coffee conversation. The girls immediately noted the suspicious behavior and one of them slapped him. The heated argument ended when they called the cubbon park police station and lodged a complaint against Ravindranath. There was no clue about the designation of the culprit till then.
The policemen immediately rushed to the spot and arrested the accused. They locked him up and refused to believe the Identity Card which was flashed at the time of his arrest. The public was completely in support of the young girls who took a brave move by lodging a complaint against the IPS officer. He was later rescued by the senior officials, though he was put behind the bars for couple of hours. It was surprising when he attended an official meaning and demanded the suspension of sub-inspector and other policemen who were present at the station. This will be the first time when the accused is asking for the suspension of those inspectors who did their duty properly.
This incident is a threat to the public. The police department is set to protect the people and not misuse their power.
