India has never seen such a massive involvement of the public during elections in India. The messages of  “Ab Ki Baar Modi Sarkar” were flashing on mobiles, television, radio, posters and social media. Narendra modi did create a revolution in the minds of Indians, thereby making them believe that India needs a change and change will soon be witnessed. The victory of BJP was expected.

When the entire nation is expecting change, Namma Bengaluru cannot be behind, especially being the IT capital of India. The chief minister has announced that Bangalore will have a revived look within 18 months. He also added that various infrastructure projects will be implemented in Bangalore. He inspected the progress of works being carried out under the Tender SURE (Specifications for Urban Road Execution) project at Cunningham Road and Vittal Mallya Hospital Road. The Tender is carried out in 2 packages and orders have been issued for the development of five roads under the second package.

The Tender SURE project was being taken up at the cost of Rs. 200 crore for 12 roads and will be developed as per international standards, with leveled footpaths and underground utility ducts. The expenditure for a stretch of one kilometre is at least Rs. 10 crore. The development of signal-free corridors on Dr. Rajkumar Road and Old Airport Road has also been proposed by Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP).  Dr. Rajkumar Road stretch will cover 3.73 km at a cost of Rs. 29.6 crore while Old Airport Road corridor will cover 15 km at a cost of Rs. 109 crore.

A sum of Rs. 560 crore has been allocated for the development of 230 main roads covering 395 km. The amount of Rs. 300 crore has already been released. 171 roads will be developed covering a stretch of 306 km at a cost of Rs. 400 crore in the first phase and 93 roads are still underway which will be taken care. The fund of Rs. 250 crore will also be allocated for the development of an eight-lane corridor from Fountain Circle (near Khoday’s Junction) to Okalipuram Junction. The State Government has released Rs. 1,000 crore towards city development under Nagarothana scheme. Rs. 1,385 crore of Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission and a matching grant by  BBMP is also allocated for the development of storm-water drains in Yelahanka, Mahadevpura and Dasarahalli.

Bangalore is definitely going to see a massive change with all these new projects and hope the development continues forever.
