Everyone would have dreamt of flying and getting the feel of passing through those clouds and enjoying the journey. Who wouldn’t love to save time, when there is always a possibility? The fares of the air tickets haven’t given this opportunity to all the sectors of the society. The affordability of the air tickets lies only in the hands of rich, leaving the poor just with dreams. The recent news in airline industry did create a stir in the market.

The tough competition among airlines is yielding good results to the consumers. The war in the Indian skies is getting intense, revising the flying prices. Air Asia have recently announced the fare of Rs.990 for Bangalore-Chennai route. It has forced other airlines to recheck its prices to sustain in the changing market. Indigo, which is the biggest carrier in terms of passengers, have slightly gone below the competition and have offered Rs.937 for Bangalore-Chennai route after June 12 on certain dates. The second low cost carrier, spice jet is offering Rs. 2058 for the same route. It came out with RE. 1 scheme, but soon had to withdraw as it was against Aircraft Rule 135.

It is the best time for Indian passengers to avail this opportunity.  The wedding season is also going on in India, thus making it more economical for the guests and the relatives to travel. It is also an added advantage to the corporates who are constantly on business meetings. The temporary move of the airline industry will definitely hamper the functioning in the long run. The operating and maintaining cost of these airplanes is undoubtedly high in India, as a result the company may not be able to bear the financial loss, leading to the sudden increase in the flight charges or the exit of the players.

The Director General of Aviation should soon be interfering in the matters before the imbalance occurs.
