Google Play Store

Google’s Play Store offers a number of games that can easily be downloaded for free but there are many which need to be paid for. To overcome this, Google is now testing its monthly subscription service ‘Play Press’ which would allow users to access the paid games for a monthly subscription fee.

According to the screenshots, Play Pass provides users with access to a wide range of premium apps and games without ads or in-app purchases. It will also let users bypass the in-app purchases of the particular software. The subscription service apparently costs USD 4.99 (about RM 21) per month which will be charged after a 10 day trial period although the fee might change once Play Pass is made accessible to the public. It is assumed that users will be able to cancel the subscription before their trial period is over if they are unsatisfied by the product.

“The blurb further mentions premium music apps also to be included. It’ll be quite interesting to see what kind of apps Google bundles with Play Pass. The screenshots show Stardew Valley and Marvel Pinball as being included in the Play Pass catalog, and there’s a banner that shows up to try out the service when you’re browsing the Play Store listing of an app or game that’s in the catalog,” reports Android Police.
