Google Play Store has millions of apps which covers a large number of categories. Google uses features like user reviews and rating system to help find great apps but now it looks like the firm will roll out another tool.

Android Police has noticed a comparison section near the bottom of app pages at the Play Store. This can be found below the section of “Similar Apps” and above the section showing more apps by the relevant developer.

The section is at present limited only to media player apps and compares them on ease of use, offline support, streaming and casting capability, visual quality and controls like floating windows, subtitles and gesture support.

It looks like a handy feature because people doesn’t have to look at the app description, read the reviews or download the app to check if it meets the needs of the user.

By saying all this, we all would love to see more apps receiving this section like music players, web browsers, messaging apps and streaming services. The latter can compare features like support for offline download, video quality and support for multiple profile. Messaging apps can also benefit which allows users to compare encryption and support VoIP and video calls.

The feature was available at the 22.4.28 version of Play Store but we guess Google has to flick the switch for enabling it.
