Microsoft is leaving no stone unturned to make is video calling service Skype better. Since acquiring Skype, Microsoft has been slowly but surely developing the messaging tool, most recently increasing the number of chat participants to 50. Microsoft today released a new Insider build v8.43.76.38 for Skype iOS and Android apps.

This new build brings screen sharing support to these apps. During Skype calls, with this support, you will be able to show a PowerPoint presentation to your co-worker or even do online shopping with your close friend. Simply tap on during a Skype call and select Share Screen to get started. The beta feature is available to people on the Skype Insider program, and it allows for mobile screen sharing on both iOS and Android.

Under the new functionality, users can access a ‘Share phone screen’ option under the flyout menu during a video call. The feature will be particularly useful for quickly sharing documents, photos, or webpages for collaboration across devices.

In a post in the Skype community, Microsoft says:

Your device is no longer a limitation on getting more done with Skype. With the latest Insider build, you can now share your screen on your Android or iOS device during a call. Simply tap on … and select Share Screen to get started.

Want to show your coworkers a PowerPoint presentation? Or share your swipes on dating apps? Or maybe do some online shopping with your bestie? Starting today, Skype has you covered.

As of now, there is no word on when this feature will be rolled out to all. But considering that the feature that allowed video chat with 50 participants was in beta for less than a month, we expect this to be rolled out soon too.
