WhatsApp

The multi-device feature of Whatsapp has been in conjectures since day one. Almost, every other day we come across some or the other news stating that the team is working to turn it into reality. As per the reports this multi-device support would be known as “Linked devices” features and users need to have a particular code in order to log in to different multiple devices.

In a recent tweet Wabetainfo has revealed that users need to enter the mobile number followed by which they would receive an SMS. The code mentioned in the SMS needs to be correct in order to log in multiple devices.  It is also very much similar to the current process of logging in. Whatsapp might also come up with receiving the code via chat.

As per the WhatsApp features tracker it had been stated earlier that there are two new features which include Linked devices and advanced mode features in the Android beta update. The linked devices feature refers to the multi device support. This gives a clear idea that in the days to come, users would not only receive the multi-device support but would also have an option of managing different devices that are linked to.

Sharing the screenshot WAbetainfo, has helped users to understand that in the settings menu the option of linked devices can be accessed. When the user clicks upon the “Linked Devices” option, he will be able to review all the devices which are linked to the account and also the time duration. The option of adding and removing the device would also be provided.

Adding on to the information Wabetainfo has stated that the team is currently working upon this feature and it is very much still under development. Whereas, Whatsapp is also working to develop a UI to manage all of the linked devices.

For a clear understanding, Whatsapp’s multi-device support feature allows users to log in from several different devices using one single account. This means that the user can use Whatsapp smoothly from any of the device without creating a separate account on any new device. There is nothing official regarding this feature yet, so users need to wait for this feature to roll out.
