The Manage Storage page of WhatsApp has been divided into three parts – Storage bar, Review and delete items and Chats. Storage bar shows shows a bar showing how much data out of the smartphone storage is being used by WhatsApp. The section of Review and delete items has been divided into two parts – Forwarded many times and larger than 5MB. The section of Chats shows the media files from one chat or group at one place and organizes the list based on data.

WhatsApp also makes a copy of media files when they are shared with any contact on WhatsApp. To delete the repeated copies of the same file, users can tap on Forwarded many times. Then, users can check if they want to delete those files, select all check box from the top or manually select them and tap on the Delete icon at the top right corner.

For deleting the files that consume the maximum space on the smartphone, users can tap on larger than 5MB option and delete the files according to their choice.

As an alternate option, users can also tap on one particular chat or group and delete the photos and videos according to their choice to free up storage space.
