After TRS landslide Victory in Telangana Assembly Elections, KCR son and Sircilla MLA KT Rama Rao on Thursday while speaking to Media at Somajiguda Press Club said that his party is now looking at 16 seats out of total 17 Lok Sabha Seats, leaving a lone seat of Hyderabad for AIMIM‘s Chief Asaduddin Owaisi, in a run-up to the general elections 2019.
KT Rama Rao, (popularly Known as KTR among his supporters) thanked people for giving a memorable victory for TRS in recent assembly elections despite all other parties allying together to fight against TRS.
For Telangana Assembly Elections, Congress had stitched an alliance with Telugu Desam Party and others to take on Telangana Rashtriya Samithi led by K Chandrashekhar Naidu, popularly known as KCR among his supporters.
But much to the Congress disappoint, TRS registered a landslide victory in the state winning 88 seats out of 119 seats in Telangana Assembly.
He told, out of 2 crore votes polled, almost 98 lakh votes were polled for TRS while BJP, the party ruling at center, lost deposits in 103 seats. He added, Congress also very weak in Telangana now and it lags behind TRS with almost 45 lakh votes. So, neither Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) nor Congress will be able to form governments on their own strength at center after 2019 elections and regional parties will have a bigger say at center after 2019 elections.
‘Results in the Telangana should be seen as something that should be replicated in other states’ KTR said. He told, their next target is to win 16 out of 17 Lok Sabha seats in Telangana in 2019. If we achieve that, we will be able to decide on who will be next PM of the country, he stated.
