Narendra Modi is planning to demonstrate about the new goods and services tax (GST), during his visits to Germany, Russia and US over the next two months. The main aim to promote GST internationally is to highlight the long term structural reforms that will be done by the new GST implementation, so that it is easier to do business in India.
A senior official in his statement to ET said that, this step taken by the PM shows that the Modi government is bold enough to take forward such reforms and make suitable environment for foreign investors in India. He also said that PM during his visits to these countries will also put forth the point that these reforms in India are being taken under political stability ensuring greater credibility, unlike other economies like China.
Modi will be visiting Germany, Spain and Russia from 29 may to June 3 and likely to visit US in last week of June.
