The 3-0 victory in hind heartland states is one of the biggest political achievements of Congress National President Rahul Gandhi. The victory not only important in terms of state politics but also make an easy for Congress to reach out its allies vis-à-vis the Next Year Lok Sabha Battle.

In a Nail-bitter in Madhya Pradesh Elections, Congress emerges as Largest party with 114 seats, BJP on second with 109 seats. The BSP, SP, and Independent ended with 2, 1 and 4 respectively. It would be interesting to see where these 7 would tilt.

Fighting on the bank on incumbency against Vasundhara Raje led government in the Rajasthan, Congress dethroned BJP’s Vasundhara Raje in Rajasthan Elections & registered a comeback by winning 99 seats out of 199 in 2018 Assembly elections. The final tally saw BJP finishing second with 73 seats, CPI-M 2, BSP 6, Independents 13 & others 6.

And in Chhattisgarh Elections, Congress totally unseated Raman Singh led BJP government with a win on 68 out of 90 seats in the state.

Rahul Gandhi, National President INC addressed a Press Conference after his party’s overwhelming comeback in Hindi heartland states. INC Chief said “We are going to provide these states a vision. We are going to provide these states a govt that they can be proud of.” Rahul hinting towards a possible alliance with BSP-SP quoted ” The ideology of SP, BSP & Congress is the same – different from that of BJP.”

 

 

Kamal Nath, Madhya Pradesh Congress Chief, thanked people of the state on Twitter. In his tweet written in Hindi, he called the vote ‘historic’ and assured that the party will strive to be worthy of people’s trust. Congress still maintains a thin lead over BJP in the state.

 

Narendra Modi, Prime Minister, Congratulated Congress and others who secured victory in the state assembly elections. He tweeted: ” Congratulations to the Congress for their victories. Congratulations to KCR Garu for the thumping win in Telangana and to the Mizo National Front (MNF) for their impressive victory in Mizoram.

 

Amit Shah, National President, BJP, choose to only congratulate TRS for their victory in Telangana. In a tweet, Shah said: “Congratulations to Shri K. Chandrashekar Rao ji and @trspartyonline for the impressive victory in Telangana assembly elections.

 

Arun Jaitley, Union Finance Minister, on asking about how these elections verdict will impact the lok sabha said, Issues in state elections are entirely different, we won all these states in 2003 Dec & lost the general election in 2004. Therefore these results don’t reflect automatically. The 2019 elections will be around the performance of Central govt & leadership of PM Modi.

 

Vasundhara Raje, Former Chief Minister Rajasthan, while talking to Press said: “I would like to congratulate Congress. I accept this mandate by the people. BJP has worked a lot for them in these 5 years, I hope the next party takes those policies and works forward.”

 

Tejashwi Yadav, RJD reacting on the victory of INC said, “This is a victory of the public & democracy. Public saw how the govt institutions were threatened, the manner in which people have indulged in ‘jumlebaazi‘. The public is angry with this tyranny.”

 

Raj Thackrey, MNS Chief, saying as quoted by ANI: “Rahul Gandhi was alone in Gujarat, even in Karnataka and now too. Now Pappu has become ‘Param Pujya’. Will his leadership be accepted at the national level, you are seeing it.

 

Jayant Chaudhary, RLD, said ‘I am happy that the public has given a clear mandate in Rajasthan, for a stable Govt, our MLA will extend support to the Congress. BJP ran a negative campaign, UP CM came and talked of Ali and Bajrangbali instead of issues of farmers’ RLD has won a seat in Rajasthan and extended its support to Congress.

 

Mayawati, BSP in a move to keep BJP away from power extended support to Congress, She said: “To keep BJP out of power we have agreed to support Congress in Madhya Pradesh and if need be in Rajasthan, even though we don’t agree with many of their policies,”

 

Mamata Banerjee, TMC Boss, and West Bengal Chief Minister Reacting to election trends, aid the BJP was nowhere in the “semi-final” ahead of the “final match” in 2019 and people were always the “man of the match” in a democracy.

 

Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik: I congratulate Congress, MNF for their success. It clearly shows the mood of the nation. These states are pre-dominantly agrarian states & BJP govt in the Centre has more or less ignored the Swaminathan report recommendations & loan problems of farmers.

 

Raman Singh, Former CM Chhattisgarh, while talking to press said: ‘I take the responsibility for this defeat because the poll was contested under my leadership. We will act as a strong Opposition and work for the development of the state.’

Kapil Sibal, Congress: This is the victory of Rahul Gandhi, our party, workers, people, and the fight against scams. This is the victory of humanity.

Sonia Gandhi, UPA Chairperson and Congress Former President on Wednesday expressed happiness over the assembly polls outcome, particularly in the Hindi heartland states of Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Chhattisgarh. Reacting to the results that were in favor of her party, Gandhi called this a ‘Congress victory over BJP’s negative politics’ and said she was ‘happy’ with the results.

Sharad Pawar, NCP also congratulated Congress for his performance in three Hindi heartland states and said people don’t want communal forces. Pawar tweeted:

Akhilesh Yadav, Former UP Chief Minister, and Samajwadi Party Chief said that his party could not do well. He also congratulated the Congress for his victory in three states.
