While addressing ‘Maha Janadesh Yatra’ in Katol, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis conveyed his stand on the question of Aaditya Thackeray’s cabinet post.

The Chief Minister told media reporters that the decision of cabinet berth will be based on what Shiv Sena wants. As quoted by ANI, He told reporters, “whether Aditya Thackerey becomes a part of the cabinet or not hinges on his party’s decision to stay in the coalition.”

The BJP-Shiv Sena combination seems to be on the front foot for campaigning, as evident by the political atmosphere of the state. Shiv Sena leader Aaditya Thackeray has also kickstarted the second phase of his Jan Aashirwad Yatra.

‘Maha Janadesh Yatra’ a pompous rally of BJP, will be conveyed into two phases, with the first phase commencing from 9 August. Party will campaign in Mozari and Nandurbar areas of North Maharashtra in this phase. The second phase will commence from August 17 to 31. The Yatra is expected to cover 152 assembly constituencies spanning across 30 districts in the state. For the yatra, Fadnavis will attend around 104 election rallies, 228 Swagat Sabhas, and 20 Press conferences.

Fadnavis then went onto mention about the ongoing projects of his government. His work for the betterment of the Vidharbha region was the highlight of this public address. He told people about his government starting 90 irrigation projects.

He told about making funds available for the development in Vidarbha. “We worked a lot on
Uttar Maharashtra ‘s development but we did not discriminate with any area” said the Chief Minister. Revenue minister Chandrakant Patil also attended the event. He, speaking to LiveMint said, “The Maha Janadesh Yatra has dual purposes. We will present before people an account of our performance in the state since 2014. On the basis of our performance, the yatra will seek another mandate from the people.”

The State polls will be held in October-November this year.
