The Delhi ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in a bid to improve and to expand its outreach, has decided to contest the national elections 2019 in the tiniest state of Goa which has two parliamentary seats.

The Aam Aadmi Party had in 2017 Assembly elections could not even open its tally in the state and faced huge embarrassment with a major defeat. AAP in the Assembly Elections contested 39 seats out of the total 40 seats, with 38 of the Candidates had to forfeit their deposits.

The AAP in a run-up to the national elections will face the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Indian National Congress. Both BJP and Congress had in 2014 General elections bagged each seat of the Coastal State.

The Delhi-ruling party has decided to field Elvis Gomes from Goa South Seat, while Pradeep Padgaonka from North Goa Parliamentary Seat.

Elvis Gomes, a former Bureaucrat and was the party’s CM Candidate in Goa Assembly Elections will take on BJP’s Narendra Keshav Sawaikar and Congress’ Francisco Sardinha from Goa South Parliamentary Seat.

Pradeep Padgaonka, party’s General Secretary will take on BJP’s Shripad Yesso Naik and Congress’ Girish Chodankar in the North Goa Parliamentary Seat.

AAP National Chief and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is slated to address a rally on April 13 to galvanize support the party’s Candidates.

Speaking to Media, AAP North Goa Nominee Elvis Gomes said that the party is confident voters will vote wisely, and we are concentrating on all voters rather certain section.

Polling for the two Lok Sabha seats will be held in the third phase on April 23. There are nearly 11 lakh voters in the state.

General Elections are slated for April-May this year that would spread on Seven Phases starting from April 11 to May 19. Election Commission had on March 10 declared schedule for General Elections 2019.

The Counting of votes for the mega battle of ballots will take place on May 23, four days after last round of polling.

AAP in a run-up the general elections have already announced its candidates on all 7 seats of the national capital after alliance talks a fail alliance talk with Congress. AAP has also announced Candidates few seats of UP, and Bihar next month’s mega battle of ballots.
