As per information the Lekhpal of Jiyamau, Surjan Lal filed a case in Hazratganj Police Station against Mukhtar Ansari and his sons Umar and Abbas for forgery, conspiracy, illegal construction through the possession of government property. Under IPC sections 420, 423, 465, 467, 468, 471, 474, 477A, and 120B, Lucknow’s Hazratganj police registered a FIR against Mukhtar’s sons and also declared a reward of Rs 25,000, if anyone gives information about them.

The Ansari’s are been defended by top lawyers including senior advocates JN Mathur, HGS Parihar and Arun Sinha, who argued that the FIR did not reveal commission of cognizable offence as the two brothers were not even born when the alleged offences were said to have been committed, contesting the FIR lodged at Hazartganj police station on August 27.

In August, two “illegal buildings” registered in the name of imprisoned gangster-turned-politician Mukhtar Ansari’s family members in the posh Dalibagh town of Lucknow were demolished by the Lucknow Development Authority.

Earlier, the demolition of Mukhtar’s sister-in-law Farhat Ansari’s house at Dalibagh in Lucknow remained at the High Court.

The order for its demolition was given on September 29 by the VC of the Lucknow Development Authority. The VC had cancelled a map and a permit for the house of Farhat Ansari. After that, Farhat challenged the VC order at Allahabad High Court.

Mukhtar Ansari is currently being held in Punjab’s Ropar Jail. The property of his family and his close ones is being confiscated by the police and district administration. Around the same time, several family properties have also been freezed.
