With just days left for the last phase of elections, Bharatiya Janata Party President Amit Shah will hold a roadshow in Gorakhpur of Uttar Pradesh. During his visit to Gorakhpur – the bastion of UP CM Yogi Adityanath – Shah will seek votes for actor-turned-politician Ravi Kishan.

Speaking about the BJP President roadshow, BJP’s state Deputy media In-charge Rakesh Tripathi told media that over 1 Lakh supporters are likely to participate in the historic roadshow of Bharatiya Janata Party. Revealing further details about the roadshows, Tripathi said the km long roadshow will begin from Town Hall and will culminate at Vijay Chowk.

Bharatiya Janata Party Chief Amit Shah will be accompanied by UP CM Yogi Adityanath and BJP Candidate Ravi Kisan. Shah will also address the gathering and will seek votes for BJP from the party’s stronghold.

The saffron party has named Ravi Kishan to contest from Gorakhpur Parliamentary seat who will take on SPBSP Mahagathbanddhan’s Rambhual Nishad. While Congress has named Madhusudan Tripathi.

UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath held the Gorakhpur seat five times since 1998. He had to vacate the seat in 2017 after being appointed as the Chief Minister of the State. It is should be noted that, In the 2018 by-election, Son of Sanjay Nishad, Praveen Nishad of Nishad Party contested on Samajwadi Party ticket with the backing of BSP and defeated BJP‘s, Upendra Shukla.

Nishad Party in a run-up to the national polls has joined hands with Bharatiya Janata Party.

General Elections 2019 is being held across seven phases starting April 11 to May 19. Counting of the votes will be held on May 23. Voting of the remaining 59 constituencies will be held in last and seventh phase slated for May 19.

13 Lok Sabha seats of Uttar Pradesh including Gorakhpur Lok Sabha Seat will poll during the last phase of elections on May 19. The campaigning will come to halt on Friday, 17 April at 5 pm.
