The dead body of deceased Anand Pal Singh was finally handed over to the family in his village on Saturday. After the second postmortem conducted in Churu hospital, Police carried his body to his village and handed over to the family. The body was accepted by his daughter and brother in law. His elder daughter is still expected to arrive in India from Dubai, where she is studying engineering.
Anand Pal Singh was allegedly killed in an encounter last Saturday. The family members have been alleging the government of foul play and demanding a CBI probe. Earlier, the family members had demanded another postmortem and had cleared their stance of not accepting the body. The increasing impact of this case across Rajasthan made the government fall on its feet and accept the demand of conducting the postmortem again. The second postmortem was yesterday conducted at a hospital in Churu, post which, Police decided to hand over his body to the family.
According to parents, final rituals will be conducted after the elder daughter of Anand Pal, Chinu gets back from Dubai. Police has imposed section 144 in many areas of Churu and Nagaur, which prevents individuals from forming groups. Also, internet service has been suspended in the area to prevent message sharing among the youth.
The recent developments clearly show government’s helplessness in the case and its inability to come out and address such cases. Government is on backfoot after the Rajputs started their agitation demanding for the CBI investigation. There are a few ministers who seem to be involved in the case. Government is trying its best to suppress the issue, however, it seems that Rajputs will not let this loosen up this time.
