Veteran Bollywood actor Anupam Kher on Thursday campaigned for his wife and BJP nominee, Kirron Kher in Chandigarh. Anupam Kher on the occasion held a massive roadshow along with Bharatiya Janata Party Leader and Uttarakhand CM Trivendra Singh Rawat to galvanize support for his wife Kirron Kher who is seeking the second term from the Chandigarh Lok Sabha Seat.

Later in the day, Kirron Kher filed her nominations for the Chandigarh Lok Sabha Seat. On the occasion of filing nomination, Kirron Kher was accompanied with Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar, Uttarakhand CM TS Rawat and other top leaders from the party.

Kirron Kher took to Twitter after filing her nomination. She said, ‘I have filed nomination for Chandigarh Lok Sabha Seat. I want to thanks Manohar Lal Khattar ji, Trivendra Singh Rawat Ji, Sanjay Tandon and Anupam Kher ji. Special thanks to all workers and supporters for giving immense love during Roadshow’.

Bharatiya Janata Party nominee Kher in a run-up to the national elections 2019 will be taking on Congress nominee and Former Union Minister Pawan Kumar Bansal. AAP has nominated Former MP Harmohan Dhawan for the Lok Sabha Seat. Dhawan had in 1989 won the seat contesting on Janata Dal ticket.

Earlier on Wednesday, Kher slammed Bansal for spreading lies and rumours about the developmental work done by her (Kirron Kher) in last 5 years as a Member of Parliamentary.

Kirron Kher had in 2014 national elections defeated Pawan Kumar Bansal with a slim margin of 60,000 votes. Bansal had represented the seat three times since 1999.

General Elections have already begun and would spread across seven phases from April 11 to May 19. Counting of the votes will be held on May 23.

Chandigarh to elect a new Member of Parliament will vote on May 19 during seventh and the last phase of voting.
