The Supreme Court has on Friday, adjourned the case of Rohingya refugees for final hearing till January 2019, who fled from Myanmar due to widespread violence, bloodshed and discrimination their community and took refuge in parts of India.

Due to the rise of violence against Rohingya in Myanmar, thousands of Rohingya took refuge in India and also Bangladesh. About 40,000 of Rohingya refugees were resided in India’s region after they fled from Myanmar because of widespread discrimination. Over 16,000 refugees out of them are registered with United Nation refugee agency.

Claiming that Rohingya could be a threat to India as they are connected to terrorist groups and may be also have connection with Islamic terror groups, the central government has told the apex court in 2017 to identify each of the Rohingya refugees and make them deport from India to their respective homeland.

However, earlier the plea was made against the apex court’s decision of deporting around 40,000 Rohingya refugees back to their homeland, who fled from Myanmar as they were facing discrimination and violence continuously.

Two Rohingya immigrants- Mohammad Shaqir and Mohammad Salimullah, has filed a plea in the apex court, who claimed that they took refuge in India and Bangladesh after facing serious problems raised against their community in Myanmar.

In August 2017, around 650,000 of Rohingya Muslim refuge in Rakhine after a massive crackdown launched by Myanmar’s army.
