Army Chief Bipin Rawat exchanged security intelligence reports of terrorists with the forces near LOC (Line of Control) region. Speaking to the forces, Chief commanded the security authorities to get ready for any security contingency measures if it arises.

Army Chief Bipin Rawat headed to Srinagar on Friday to review the security situation and troop preparedness in the area. He is said to be focusing on assessing the on-ground security measures and looking after the situational preparedness of the Army forces. This was his first such visit after the revoking of Article 370.

He was accompanied by Chinar Corps commander Lt General K J S Dhillon. Dhillon apprised Bipin Rawat about the incidents of ceasefire violations and the counter-measures taken up by security to retaliate in such events. The meeting by the Army Chief assumes a greater significance in the context that large-scale activities have been noticed at over two dozen terror camps/launch pads along the border.

It has also been reported that various terror outfits like Lashkar-e-Taiba and Hizbul Mujahideen have put up posters in different parts of the Valley, threatening the local shop owners. Bipin Rawat while interacting with the security forces praised the commanders for their valour and courageous efforts in foiling terrorist’s plans.
