Hearing the hotly debated case of Ayodhya land dispute case, the country’s apex court allowed Muslim parties (including UP Sunni Waqf Board) to file their written notes in the case on Monday.

Previously, The Muslim parties had submitted before the bench that the verdict will have “consequences” for the future polity of the nation. The case was heard by Chief Justice of India, Ranjan Gogoi along with Justice SA Bobde, DY Chandrachud, Ashok Bhushan and Abdul Nazeer.

Muslim parties submitted that they should be allowed to bring their written note for the perusal of the Constitution bench which reserved its verdict on October 16 after conducting a 40-day-long hearing.

A Muslim lawyer had said that the various parties and the top court registry had raised an objection to the filing of the written note in a sealed cover. He said, “We have now served our written note to all the parties on Sunday.

PREVIOUS JUDGEMENT IN AYODHYA VERDICT-

Allahabad High court while hearing the case on September 30, 2010, had divided the 2.77-acre in Ayodhya among the Sunni Waqf Board, the Nirmohi Akhara and Ram Lalla equally.

The Supreme court is hearing the petition filed against the decision of Allahabad high court. It started daily-based hearing from 6 August after the failure of the mediation panel headed by Judge FM Ibrahim Kalifullah.

Now the Supreme Court has announced that the decision on the matter will be finalized between November 4 to November 17.
