The debated Ayodhya Land dispute case has entered its 6th day of the hearing. Daily hearings for the case began from 6th august after the mediation panel headed by Judge FM Ibrahim Kalifullah failed to find a conclusive solution.

The case is being heard by the 5-judge constitution bench headed by Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi and Justices D Y Chandrachud, S A Bobde, Ashok Bhushan and S A Abdul Nazeer.
On the 6th day, Advocate C S Vaidyanathan who is appearing for Hindu party (Ram Lalla) said, “During the reign of Akbar and Jahangir, there were early travelers to India like William Finch, William Hawkins who made references in their writing about Ayodhya.” He also said that books by foreign travelers contain the detailed description of Ayodhya and Ram temple. He cited old historical books as a reference to see the validity of the claim.

Earlier, the apex court rejected to hear the matter on 3 days a week. Senior Counsel from Sunni Waqf Board requested the apex court to not hear the matter 5 days a week.
BACKGROUND:
The top court is hearing the appeals against the September 30, 2010 verdict of the Allahabad High Court in Ayodhya land dispute case. In its verdict, The court divided the 2.77-acre in Ayodhya among the Sunni Waqf Board, the Nirmohi Akhara and Ram Lalla equally.
