The Bombay High Court on Friday turned down a plea of an activist, Anand Teltumbde, seeking to quash an FIR against him in Bhima Koregaon Violence Case. But the Court granted him protection from arrest for three weeks after his counselor requested the Court that they want to file a plea in the apex Court.

The Bombay HC on December 15 had increased the interim protection of Anand Teltumbe till December 17.

Earlier this month, Pune Police has registered a fresh FIR against five more accused, making it total 33 FIR till now in connection with Bhima Koregaon Violence Case.

Pune Police in November has filed it 5,160-page charge sheet against 10 people in special UAPA Court. Of the ten charge-sheeted, five activists – Sudhir Dhawale, Rona Wilson, Surendra Gadling, Shoma Sen, and Mahesh Raut, were arrested on June 6 in connection with the violence during Elgar Parishad.

The other five –  Prashant Bose alias Kishanda, Prakash alias Naveen alias Rituparna Goswami and “Comrade M” alias Deepak alias Milind Teltumde, Deepu and Mangalu were arrested on August 28 for their alleged links with the banned CPI (Maoist) outfit.

The Charge sheet stated that the ‘Entire Campaign for Elgar Parishad and the Speeches Delivered at Elgar Parishad aggravated the Violence. Police during the course of Investigation has examined over 80 witnesses.

Charge-sheet filed by Pune Police also stated that a Letter has been recovered from one of the arrested accused revealed a conspiracy was on the cards to Kill PM Narendra Modi.

The Violence erupted at the 200-anniversary Celebrations of Bhima Koregaon on January 1.
