Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Wednesday held a high-level review meeting and discuss the steps to tighten the liquor prohibition in the state. Bihar CM directed all police personnel present in the meeting to take in writing from all police stations that illegal liquor is not on selling in their respective areas.

Asserting the police department should work for a permanent ban on the liquor trade, Chief Minister said that with the ban on alcohol trade, cases of crime against the women and children has reduced.

The meeting called to review the status report of the alcohol prohibition was attended by Minister of Energy Brijendra Prasad Yadav, Official Secretary Bihar CM Chanchal Kumar, Bihar DGP Gupteshwar Pandey and other Top brasses from Police Department.

In a press statement released by the Chief Minister’s Office, It was stated that ‘If alcohol is recovered from the area, the police personnel won’t be given postings in police stations for next 10 years’.

Stepping up on his stance on Alcohol Ban, Chief Minister further directed police depart to track the alcohol mafias and those who were in the alcohol business before the ban. Police Department has been directed to reach to such businessman and check what they are doing now after the alcohol ban.

He also directed to check out for the neighboring states from where alcohol can be brought up in the state.

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar recently inducted 8 Lawmakers of his party as ministers in his government in Bihar while leaving out the BJP has fuelled political buzz about a possible rift with the party.

Earlier on Wednesday, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar also conducted a review meeting of the energy department.
