BJP in Assam is all busy preparing for the welcome of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 26 May for the Three-year anniversary celebrations of Modi government’s rule at the centre. On 26 the BJP-led government in Assam also completes its first anniversary, so this calls for the double celebration.

The party is expecting over one lakh people in Khanapara, where Modi will be addressing the rally on 26 May. Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh and Manipur, Pema Khandu and Biren Singh are also expected to attend the rally.

Huge arrangements are made for the welcome of PM and the dual celebration. Walls and flyovers are painted and Assam is all decorated.

Preceding the celebration in Assam, one night stay has been made mandatory by the PM for Union Ministers, visiting North East. Prime motive to take this decision is to pass out the message that Northeast India is safe.

In his statement to ET, Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal has has much appreciated PM’s decision of night stay of ministers and said that this will help promote tourism also.

Assam BJP Unit President Ranjeet Kumar Das also informed ET that preparation for Lok Sabha Polls 2019 has already started and the PM is most likely to talk on the 2019 polls also in Guwahati on 26 May.
