A High-Level delegation of Bhartiya Janta Party comprising Union Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad met Election Commission of India on Wednesday with a request to deploy Central Forces in Mamata Banerjee’s Bastion West Bengal.

Briefing the media after meeting the officials of the poll panel, Union Minister said we have requested the Election Commission to declare west Bengal a super-sensitive state during the electoral process in the upcoming General Elections 2019. 

The Saffron Party who has been in loggerheads with TMC and Mamata Banerjee led Government in West Bengal have also asked the Poll panel to conduct the polls under Central Forces.

While highlighting the law and order situation in West Bengal, Union Minister said ‘We have conveyed to the EC that Bengal’s track record in a free & fair election is very very deplorable. Recently, 100 people were killed during local body and gram panchayat polls’

Union Minister also trained guns towards Congress President Rahul Gandhi. BJP delegation also complained about Rahul Gandhi for trading allegations against Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his rally in Gujarat. “We’ve requested EC to take action against Rahul Gandhi for levelling unverified allegations against PM yesterday in Ahmedabad when the Model Code of Conduct is already in effect”, Law Minister said while briefing the media.

Earlier on Monday, the BJP had complained to the Poll Body that the ruling Trinamool Congress leaders are “threatening the voters”. Earlier in February last month, Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) high-level delegation met Election Commission and requested the Poll Panel to look on the issue of Law and Order in the TMC ruled State.

Lok Sabha Polls are slated for April-May this year that would spread on Seven Phases starting from April 11 to May 19. Polls in all 42 Lok Sabha Seats of West Bengal will spread in all seven phases starting from April 11 next month.

Ruling Trinamool Congress in a run-up to the general elections 2019 have announced its candidates on all 42 Lok Sabha seats with over 40% tickets distributed to female candidates. While Bhartiya Janta Party is currently busy in catching biggies from TMC and Congress in the state.

TMC MP Anupam Hazra had on Tuesday joined Bhartiya Janta Party in presence of BJP State In-Charge Kailash Viaywargiya and BJP Leader Mukul Roy.

Election Commission had on Sunday declared schedule for General Elections 2019. Results for the crucial Lok Sabha Polls will be announced on May 23 four days after the 7th phase of voting. In 2014 General Election, Trinamool Congress won 34 Lok Sabha Seats,  Congress 4, while BJP and CPI(M) won 2 seats each.
