Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Parliamentary Board that held its meeting on Monday finalized the name of Former Union Minister and Senior Leader JP Nadda‘s name for the party working President. While the Union Home Minister Amit Shah will continue to be party Chief.

Nadda’s appointment as BJP Working President was on cards ever since he was kept away from the Council of Ministers.

Announcing the decision, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Stalwart Rajnath Singh tweeted, ‘The has won several elections under the leadership of party president Shri . After the Prime Minister, Shri appointed him the Home Minister, Amitji himself had said that the responsibility of party president should be given to someone else’.

He added, ‘BJP Parliamentary board met today and it has selected Shri as the working president. He will remain the working president till the BJP’s membership drive& org. elections are over. Congratulations & best wishes to Naddaji for shouldering this new responsibility’.

Nadda was also among the frontrunners for the top post in 2014 when Rajnath Singh resigned after joining the Union Cabinet. However, Shah took over as party president.

While Prime Minister Narendra Modi asserted confident of the success under Nadda and Shah Leadership. ‘I am confident that under the leadership of Shri and Shri , and powered by the hard work of our Karyakartas, the BJP will continue winning people’s trust and serving our society. We remain committed to building a strong, developed and inclusive India’, tweeted PM Modi.

In another tweet, He added that ‘Shri (JP Nadda) is a diligent Karyakarta of the Party, who has risen through the ranks due to his hard work and organisational skills. Humble and affable, he is widely respected across the BJP family. Congratulations to him on becoming the Working President of the Party’.

‘Respected Prime Minister, Mr. Shri, thank you for your blessed and affectionate words. I am always grateful to you for your guidance that has been my source of inspiration for a long time. The service of the Bharatiya Janata Party is our practice’, tweeted JP Nadda in response to PM Modi’s tweet.
