With the 2019 polls round the corner, speculations of several alliances forming and breaking is in the air. Previously, there were speculations that the JD(U) will not join hands with the BJP for the upcoming elections. However, BJP president, Amit Shah has recently put to rest such rumours by stating that there was no disagreement regarding seat sharing.

Urging the party cadres and people to ‘make Narendra Modi Prime Minister once again’ Amit Shah reaffirms that their stand with JD(U) will remain resolute for the upcoming polls. While addressing the people, he stated:

“All speculation about differences with Nitish Kumar are unfounded… You can continue to speculate, but we’ll contest together and win all 40 seats in Bihar.”

The speculations of discord specifically arose taking into consideration that the BJP was not agreeing to accept the ‘2009 formula’ where JD(U) had contested on 25 seats and won 20 seats in Bihar. Amit Shah during his two meetings on Thursday with Nitish Kumar assured and confirmed that the BJP will respect the status of JD(U) in Bihar and settle the seat allocation between all allies ‘amicably at the earliest’.

“BJP is the only party which respects its alliance partners. All NDA allies including Nitish Kumar’s party JD (U) is intact and we are confident that NDA will win all 40 seats in Bihar and Narendra Modi will return as Prime Minister,” Shah said in his speech to the Shakti Kendra Managers and Vistaraks at Patna’s Gyan Bhawan. Even though the exact formula for the 2019 polls is not decided an official alliance has been publicly proclaimed.

BJP took a jab by attacking the Congress in their address by stating that the opposition is ‘engaging in false rumours’ and propaganda against the NDA. He reiterated the fact that the NDA is united and will fight the coming elections as one entity.
