BlackBuck hires former Bluestone executive Arvind Singhal as COO

BlackBuck, the online fright service aggregation startup, owned by Zinka Logistics Solutions Pvt. Ltd., has hired former executive of BlueStone, Arvind Singhal, as its Chief Operating Officer (COO).

Arvind Singhal, who is an IIT Bombay and IIM Calcutta graduate, was working with the online jewellery company since September 2015. He resigned from the position of COO in March this year.

Prior to joining BlueStone as COO, he was the Chief Executive Officer at ab-hailing service Taxi For Sure, which is now acquired by Ola. Previously, he has been associated with McDonald’s, Reliance Communications and Marico.

Commenting on his appointment, Arvind Singhal said,

I am very excited to be part of the BlackBuck team which is on the course to transform the Indian transportation industry. I am looking forward to adding value by digitizing the freight space leveraging technology.

Rajesh Yabaji, CEO of Blackbuck on the appointment of Arvind, said,

BlackBuck was founded in April 2015 by IIT Kharagpur alumni Rajesh Yabaji, Chanakya Hridaya and Ramasubramaniam B. The company focuses on B2B logistics solutions for long-haul trucking.

The startup is backed by Tiger Global, Russian billionaire Yuri Milner’s Apoletto, Accel Partners, and Flipkart, among others. Earlier this year, BlackBuck raised Rs 476 crore in Series C funding round, led by Sands Capital. Existing investors Accel Partners and Flipkart also participated in this round, along with International Finance Corporation, the World Bank’s private-sector investment arm.
