A bench of Justice AK Menon heard a defamation suit filed by Chadha seeking compensation from the actress for Rs. 1.1 crore, actor Kamal R Khan & a news channel for remarks made against her that are derogatory & defamatory in nature.

The Court asked Lawyer Nitin Satpute, who appeared for the actress, after hearing the submissions, if his client was willing to withdraw her claims against Chadha and apologise for the same. Satpute said while addressing the Court that his client was ready to apologise and withdraw her statements against Chadha, and thus needed time to talk to the lawyer of Chadha to arrive at a settlement.

Lawyer Saveena Bedi Sachar and Senior lawyer Veerendra Tulzapurkar, representing Chadha, said they will work out a settlement by Monday and notify the court of the settlement terms.

Lawyer Manoj Gadkari told the Court, appearing for Khan, that his client had not made any derogatory comments against Chadha, but had merely conveyed the comments made by the actor. However, Gadkari assured the Court that until Monday his client would refrain from sharing any material pertaining to Chadha or the current case.

The Court granted a temporary injunction against news channels and others, after hearing all submissions, to share or broadcast any material under dispute in the suit.
