The relationship of Congress and Bahujan Samaj Party is not likely to sail smooth as the latter has decided not to tie-up with congress in the poll bound state of MP and Rajasthan. Already, BSP has shunned congress in Chattisgarh and made an alliance with Ajit Jogi’s Janta Congress.

Bahujan Samaj Party national general secretary Ramachal Rajbhar, Party in- charge of Madhya Pradesh, said that BSP would release a list of 40 candidates soon. Mayaywati reviewed the names of the candidates and listed out the shortlisted names on Friday.

HT quoted him as saying, “We have already announced candidates for 22 seats, the candidates for the remaining 168 (MP) seats will be announced in the first week of October. The BSP has geared up its cadre to contest the assembly election on its own strength in the state. Behenji (Mayawati) will launch the election the campaign in October”.

Reports were there that the Congress was offering few seats to the BSP and so it did not comply because it was keen to have a respectable number of seat sharing. The Congress also irked Mayawati by opening doors for Dalit leader Devashish Jarariya, who was expelled by her from the party.

There is no likelihood that BSP would join hands with Congress in Rajasthan either, a BSP leader said.
