In a big blow to Bahujan Samaj Party in Madhya Pradesh on Monday, its Candidate from Guna Lok Sabha Seat Lokendra Singh Rajput joined Indian National Congress in a public meeting of Jyotiraditya Scindia. Rajput was named by BSP against Congress’s Jyotiraditya Scindia.

Lokendra Singh Rajput was reportedly upset with BSP for a very long time and wanted to turncoat. BSP in the state is contesting polls in an alliance with Samajwadi Party. As per the poll pact, Samajwadi Party will have its Candidates on Balaghat, Thikri, and Khujrao Parliamentary Seats while remaining seats been offered to Bahujan Samaj Party(BSP).

‘Bahujan Samaj Party’s young candidate from the parliamentary constituency, Shri Lokendra Singh Dhaankji, today joined the Congress and gave us his support, Welcome to the Congress family. I have full faith that your coming will strengthen the party’, tweeted Congress General Secretary.

Jyotiraditya Scindia who is seeking his fifth term from the Guna-Shivpuri Parliamentary Seat had on April 20 filed his nomination after holding a roadshow to reach Shivpuri District Collectorate Office.

Scindia has represented the seats five times since 2002. He entered Lok Sabha for the first time in 2002 in by-polls after the death of his father who was the then incumbent MP from the seat. Jyotiraditya Scindia had in 2004 Polls won the seats with 80,000 votes.
