Bahujan Samaj Party Supremo Mayawati on Monday warned that Congress and said that party will have to “review” its decision of outside support to the Congress governments in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh unless cases registered against “innocent” people in connection with the Bharat Bandh on April 2, 2018 are withdrawn.

In a statement, BSP said, “We demand that cases filed during the ‘Bharat band’ held on 2 April 2018 for SC/ST Act 1989 in Rajasthan & Madhya Pradesh be withdrawn. If these demands are not met, we’ll reconsider our decision to give outside support to Congress”.

Mayawati’s remarks come on the heels of Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav’s warning signals to the Congress by expressing unhappiness with the party for not giving a Cabinet berth to the lone SP MLA in MP.

The BSP has six MLAs in Rajasthan and two in MP.

Earlier on December 21, Akhilesh Yadav hit back at Congress for not including party’s lone legislator in MP Government despite helping the Congress to reach the majority mark in the state. Former UP Chief Minister said to media, “Thanks to the Congress, they did not make our vidhayak (legislator) a minister” He added ‘by doing so, they have cleared the path for Uttar Pradesh.

Reportedly, both the Parties –  BSP and SP have finalized the seat pact in Uttar Pradesh and will keep Congress away from the coalition. Reportedly, BSP will have its candidates on 38 Lok Sabha seats while Samajwadi Party with one less will field its candidate on 37 seats in upcoming Lok Sabha 2019 Polls. Both parties have also agreed to give 3 seats to RLD considering its stronghold in Jat-dominated west part of the state.

Congress in Madhya Pradesh Polls has emerged as the single largest party with 114 seats in 230 assembly state. But with help of BSP and SP touched the majority mark. BSP has won two seats while SP has won a single seat in Madhya Pradesh Polls.
