Cabinet's Appointment Committee Reshuffles bureaucrats,Pankaj Jain Becomes Secretary In Petroleum Ministry

The union government on Tuesday appointed Pankaj Jain, the current Additional Secretary in the Union Finance Ministry, as the new Secretary for the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas (MoPNG).

Besides, the government also has rejigged the top level position in the Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change (MoEFCC) by appointing Leena Nandan as Secretary who was currently working in the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, whereas Ministry of Culture’s Secretary Rohit Kumar Singh has been shifted to Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution Secretary.

Department of Expenditure’s Special Secretary Rajeev Ranjan has been appointed as the secretary in  the National Commission for Backward Classes. While Ministry of Food Processing Industries’ Special Secretary Manoj Joshi will be joining the Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs as an Officer on Special Duty. He will be handling the reigns of Secretary of, Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs–  Durga Shanker Mishra upon his retirement.

Also, the Appointment Committee of Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointment of Sanjay Kumar Singh as Secretary for the Ministry of Steel. He previously worked as Secretary in the Department of Administrative Reforms & Public Grievances and Department of Pensions and Pensioners Welfare.

Special secretary of Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances– V Srinivas has been appointed as Secretary for  Department of Administrative Reforms & Public Grievances and Department of Pensions & Pensioners Welfare after the transfer of Sanjay Kumar Singh.

Vini Mahajan, a 1987 batch IAS officer, has been nominated Secretary for Drinking Water and Sanitation, Ministry of Jal Shakti, by the ACC. Bharat Lal, the present Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Jal Shakti, has been named as the Lokpal’s Secretary.
