Rather than converting the “friendship” with Pakistan into an ugly folly of enmity, America has made Pakistan its ally in the fight against terrorism. Post-Afghanistan meet, America made it very clear in point to state the status quo of its relationship with Pakistan. After Trump’s tweet on stopping its aid to Pakistan last month, speculations arose tremendously, suspecting rivalry between America and Pakistan. The cause of these speculations was also based on growing “friendship”, in the name of trade associations, between America and India. Trump’s tweet acted as a fan to the growing sparks of speculations. They were ignited further with the America-Afghanistan meet held in this month.

What will be Pakistan’s Future?

Pentagon’s Chief Spokesperson Dana White said, “Pakistan has an opportunity to be a partner in the fight against terrorism.”

“Pakistan has been a victim of terrorism, and it has supported terrorism. We are looking for Pakistan to actively join — it can do the things we need them to do to confront terrorism,” said White.

Pakistan has been a victim of terrorism for a long time now and still, it has supported terrorism. Due to Terrorism, the growth of Pakistan was lowered in the past because of less funding received from Countries like the US. The US has recently suspended about USD 2 billion in security aid to Pakistan for failing to clamp down on the Afghan Taliban and the Haqqani Network terror groups and dismantle their safe havens.

India at the United Nations always explained how Pakistan is a safe Heaven for terrorism. President Donald Trump stated in a tweet that Pakistan is giving nothing to the US rather than “lies and deceit” and providing “safe haven” to terrorists in return for USD 33 billion aid over the last 15 years.

This looks like the last chance for Pakistan to regain its lost Reputation at the International Level.
