On January 29, an FIR has been filed against the AAP MLA Madan Lal in a police station of south Delhi for obstructing the railway officials from conducting an anti-encroachment drive, said the police.
The incident happened on Saturday when the officials of the northern railways were on an anti-encroachment drive, near the railway track between Safdurjung and Lajpat Nagar.
The railway officials have said that, the MLA visited the site and opposed the removal of illegal possession after which they filled a complaint against him.
Deputy commissioner of police (south) confirmed the incident. Police said that, based on the complaint they have a filed a case against MLA Madan Lal on Thursday at Kotla Mubarakpur police station.
On 25 January, a letter was sent by the northern railway to the south Delhi police to provide them adequate police force on January 29 to remove illegal encroachment from both the sides of the railway track.
It is alleged that when the joint team and the railway officials reached the spot, the locals informed that the MLA has visited the spot and scolded them for not informing the locals in advance.
