Telugu Desam Party (TDP) Boss and once an ally of Bharatiya Janata Party in Andhra Pradesh, N Chandrababu Naidu will be campaigning against the saffron party. Andhra Pradesh CM will be visiting the Karnataka on Monday and will gear up the poll campaign for CongressJD(S) Alliance in the state.

Sources familiar with the schedule for Naidu said that he will be addressing rallies in the state on those parliamentary seats which have seizable votes from Telugu speaking people.

JD(S) Supremo and former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda requested the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister to come in the state and campaign for the Congress-JD(S) alliance.

Karnataka Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy will also accompany Naidu and his father Deve Gowda in the Campaign trail.

Since the State Polls and General Elections in Andhra Pradesh were completed in the Phase-I, it is expected that Andhra Pradesh CM will be seen campaigning for its allies till round of Voting.

All 175 Assembly Seats and 25 Lok Sabha Seats of State had already voted on April 11.

It should be noted that many Opposition Leaders including HD Deve Gowda, Arvind Kejriwal, Mamata Banerjee and Farooq Abdullah addressed several rallies in Andhra Pradesh to galvanise support for TDP from Andhra Pradesh.

Opposition Leaders including Mamata and Kejriwal racked up BJP and PM Modi in their addresses. They asked peoples of the state to elect Naidu for another term.

However, it is not clear whether Naidu will campaign for AAP and TMC in Delhi and West Bengal, where both are contesting against Congress.

Congress and JD(S) in a run-up to the general elections have forged an alliance with 20:8 seat agreement. BJP going all alone in the state that sends 28 parliamentarians to the Lok Sabha.

Election Commission had on March 10 declared schedule for General Elections 2019. General Elections have already begun on April 11 and would spread on Seven Phases starting from April 11 to May 19.

Counting of Votes and Results for the mega Battle of ballots will be announced on May 23 four days after the 7th phase of voting. Karnataka has a total 28 parliamentary seats and will go to polls on April 18 and April 23.

In 2014 General Elections, BJP banking on the ‘Modi Wave’ bagged 17 seats while Congress had won 9 seats. JD(S) who has contested 25 Lok Sabha seats in 2014 General Elections won only two seats.
