Former Union Finance Minister and Chairman of Congress Manifesto P Chidambaram on Sunday held a meeting with founders of startups seeking inputs on Party’s Manifesto for Upcoming Lok Sabha Elections 2019.

During the meeting that held at Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu the founders from various domains put forward their inputs, and possible solutions to help them Develop. Reportedly around 25 startups including Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise (MSME) participated in the meeting.

Among the Demands that were raised by the Startups includes proper credit flow, subsidies from Bank, and technology collaborations to develop new ventures.

While addressing a Presser Former Minister of Finance, Chidambaram said a 22-member committee has been set up to draft the Manifesto for 2019 General Elections. The Indian National Congress earlier on November held a similar meeting in Bengaluru. During the event about a 100 entrepreneurs and industry players weighed in on regulatory roadblocks to the startup ecosystem.

Rajeev Gowda, Convenor of the Manifesto Committee had chaired that meeting to get a proper insight about the need of the startups.

Earlier in October, Party announced the launch of its manifesto website called “Jan Awaz – Your Voice”. The website will allow the general public to state their opinions and
suggestion for the draft manifesto.

The party had its an initial taste of success in December when the Party has totally dethroned the ruling Bhartiya Janta Party from the Hindi Heartland states.
