Namdas Rao Tyagi popularly known as Computer baba replied to the Election Commission on the notice performing ‘hatyog’ for the victory of Congress leader from Bhopal parliamentary constituency Digvijay Singh in the Lok Sabha elections 2019.

In response to the Election Commission computer baba denied inviting Digvijaya Singh for the camp and said that the money for organizing the camp came from the donations and charity.

The response came after Election commission issued a notice against Computer Baba after Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) filed a complaint against him alleging that he was fanning communal sentiments by campaigning for Digvijay Singh.

The Election Commission sought his response on three main points that were, Who did Computer take the permission form for organizing the three-day camp and Hatyog and when was this permission granted to him. The other point was whether Digvijay Singh was invited for the camp by Computer Baba or other saints and lastly that where did the money to organize a three-day camp came from. The additional probe was also that how much money was spent on this programme that escalated communal sentiments in the people.

In response to the invitation sent to Digvijay, Computer Baba said that “I have no information if Digvijay Singh or his wife were present at the spot as I did not invite them. The camp was set up by the donations received.”

The development took place after hundreds of saints and seers along with Computer Baba campaigned for Congress candidate Digvijay Singh in Bhopal. The BJP alleged that they were fanning communal sentiments among the people.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has fielded Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur, an accused in the Malegaon Blast case from Bhopal against Congress leader Digvijay Singh.

Bhopal will go to polls in the sixth phase of the Lok Sabha elections on May 12. The results will be announced on May 23.
