The Congress Party has announced to launch a nationwide protest on November 5 against the anti-people economic policies and decisions of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The decision was announced by the Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal.

The decision is said to be taken at a party’s interaction meeting with interim president Sonia Gandhi in mid-September. The meeting also saw the participation of various party chiefs and office-bearers of the state units.

It is certain that the party will focus on highlighting the economic issues such as unemployment, economic slowdown, rise in prices and farmers’ distress. The party will take up the matter that’s troubling the general public. The nationwide protests will be organized at the district level and in all the state capitals from November 5 to 15 and. In the end, the protest will see its climax with a huge rally against the government in the national capital.

It has been reported that the original plan of the grand old party was to organize this protest in October, however, the plans got sidelined due to the assembly polls in Haryana and Maharashtra. The schedule of the original program was slated between October 15 and 25.

As quoted by ANI, KC Venugopal said, “Highlighting the issues of record 45 year high unemployment at 8.1 per cent, unprecedented economic slowdown, rise in prices of essential commodities, collapse of the banking system, omnipresent farm distress among others, the party and its volunteers will raise the voice of the people and try to make this insensitive government accountable for the massive miseries and sufferings that it is causing.

On being asked about the role of people in the upcoming protests, KC Venugopal replied that he and his party urge to the people across the nation to lead the movement and make the arrogant Government listen to the voice of commoners.
