New Delhi: India reports 16,375 fresh cases of coronavirus which pushed the total tally to 1,03,56,845 in the nation. The active cases now stand at 2,31,036. With 29,091 new recoveries, as far as 99,75,958 patients recovered, and with 201 new deaths in the last 24 hours, the death toll has risen to 1,49,850.
As per the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), a total of 8,96,236 samples were tested yesterday, and as far as 17,65,31,997 samples have been tested till January 1.
As per Union Health and Welfare Ministry, the infection (Active) rate is 2.36 percent, the recovery rate has reached 96.19 percent and the death rate is 1.45 percent.
Meanwhile, the Health and Family Welfare Ministry said that 20 more people testing positive for the new UK variant which has taken the total number of UK returnees having tested positive for the mutant has reached 58.
