DelhiGautam Gambhir slams Arvind Kejriwal, Centre over Delhi pollution.

Cricketer Gautam Gambhir has recently hit out at the AAP-led Delhi government for failing to curb the menace of pollution in the capital.

He slammed Kejriwal and alleged him for being callous over the issue of rising air pollution.

This happened in the wake of the recent move by National Green Tribunal(NGT) of slapping the Delhi government with a fine of 25 crores for not being able to curb the pollution.

Gautam Gambhir allso lamented that the taxpayers will end up paying for the fine.

He also tagged the Bharatiya Janata Party‘s official Twitter handle in his tweet and said that he wished that he had the option to say that the tax he pays was not for the “Delhi chief minister’s callousness”.

The fine, NGT said, would be deposited with the Central Pollution Control Board(CPCB) and will be utilized exclusively for anti-pollution measures. If the total cost is not submitted within three months, the guarantee will be forfeited, the bench said.

NGT also stated that if the government fails to pay the fine on time a hefty penalty of Rs 10 crore per month will be charged on them.
