Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Tuesday while presenting Delhi Budget in the assembly proposed fund for the long-awaited Metro project, Delhi’s Metro Phase IV.
“Our government has approved the proposal of Phase-IV of Delhi Metro project comprising six corridors with the length of 103.93 km. With the completion of the phase-IV project, the total length of the Delhi Metro will become 453.93 km. I propose ₹500 crore in the budget 2019-20 for Metro Phase-IV project,” Sisodia, who is also Delhi’s Finance Minister, said in his budget speech on Tuesday.
Delhi Metro Phase IV has become a bone of contention for Aam Aadmi Party led Delhi Government and BJP led Central Government, was allocated ₹500 crore in the budget presented on Tuesday.
The 104-km-long Metro Phase-IV project was estimated to be completed by 2021 after Delhi government’s in-principle approval to it in February 2016. It has yet to start despite approval of the Delhi cabinet in December last year.

Delhi Metro Phase IV will have six Corridors: Rithala-Bawana-Narela, Janakpuri West-RKAshram, Mukundpur-Maujpur, Inderlok-Indraprastha, Aero City-Tughlakabad, and Lajpat Nagar-Saket G Block.
Over 103.93 km long Phase IV will have 79 stations and around 20 interchange points.
For the first time, the Delhi government will also construct elevated roads under 3 metro corridors—Rithala-Bawana-Narela, Janakpuri West-RK Ashram, and Mukundpur-Maujpur.

Presenting the Budget in the Assembly, Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia who also have Finance Portfolio under him said that the Budget has been dedicated to Soldiers martyred in the Pulwama Terror Attack.
