In 2007, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) had registered an FIR against alleging Union Finance Minister P Chidambaram gave wrongful clearances to INX media. It was told that INX media was tuned of Rs. 305 crore by the ign Investment Promotion Board (FIPB).
On the validity of the lodged FIR, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) then filed a Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) case against P Chidambaram. His son Karti Chidambaram has also been named in the case.
Earlier on Monday, P Chidambaram has been summoned in aviation scandal related to the irregularities in the civil aviation sector. Enforcement Directorate has summoned the leader and told him to report to the investigative agency on August 23. The aviation scam is related to the involvement of corruption in giving favorable irregular air traffic rights to foreign airlines.
