The newly-appointed Delhi Congress chief Sheila Dikshit on Friday met with the three working presidents – Haroon Yusuf, Devendar Yadav, and Rajesh Lilothia before taking the charge as the State Chief. In a meeting with working Presidents, she took stock of the party affairs in the national capital in a run-up to Lok Sabha 2019 Polls. She is likely to take charge as the DPCC Chief from January 16.

The meeting with the working President was largely on setting priorities and fixing responsibilities of office-bearers in view of the approaching Lok Sabha elections. The ways to strengthen the party unit were also discussed in the meeting”

Delhi Former Chief Minister Sheila Dixit had on Thursday made a stunning Political comeback in the Delhi Politics with the Indian National Congress appointed her the Party-State Chief.

Sheila Dixit succeded Ajay Maken who had a step down from the top post last week citing health reasons. Dixit, the longest-serving Chief Minister of Delhi was among the frontrunners for the top post ever since Maken announced his resignation from the President of Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee (DPCC).

Sources claimed that she would react on the issue of having the alliance with the AAP.

There is a buzz that with the resignation of Ajay Maken from the President of Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee (DPCC) and HS Phoolka from AAP, the way to cement the alliance is cleared. HS Phoolka, after leaving AAP, asserts to reconstruct 2011 Anna Movement

Reportedly, Maken was having a difference of opinion with the Central Leadership over the issue of alliance with the Kejriwal led Aam Aadmi Party. ‘Voting Congress will split AAP share’, asserts Arvind Kejriwal amid speculations of an alliance

Meanwhile, sources said most of the party leaders believe Congress is “prepared” to challenge the BJP on its own in the upcoming general elections.

A final decision on Congress” alliance with other parties will be taken by the committee headed by AK Antony, sources added.
