The Delhi Metro Services on a polling day in the national capital will hit the track two hours earlier than its usual timing, an official statement said on Thursday. In order to provide a facility to those who are deployed in election duty, The DMRC said that its services on Sunday, May 12, will begin at 4 am in the morning.

The statement released by DMRC stated, “On the day of the Lok Sabha elections in Delhi on May 12, 2019 (Sunday) the Delhi Metro train services on all Lines will start from 04:00 AM so that the staff deployed in election duty can avail the facility,” the release said.

It further stated that the trains from Dwarka 21 Sector Blue line heading towards Vaishali will begin at 4:30 am. The statement further said that till 6 am, the train will run with a frequency of 30 minutes on all the Lines after that Metro trains will run as per the normal Sunday schedule throughout the day.

General Elections 2019 is being held across seven phases from April 11 to May 19. All the 7 Lok Sabha Seats of Delhi will go to polls on May 12, Sunday. Counting of Votes and Results for the mega Battle of ballots will be announced on May 23.
