Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday again intensified its demand for Full statehood to Delhi days after the announcement of Lok Sabha Polls Schedule. Delhi Chief Minister had on Tuesday held a press briefing over the issue of Statehood to the Capital.

Accusing the Centre of continuously ignoring the Delhi, AAP Chief said the mandate for the upcoming Lok Sabha election will be for Full statehood in Delhi. He further said that Delhi has been exploited for over 70 years but we won’t tolerate it any more. Full Statehood is our right, and we will do everything to get right, Delhi Chief Minister added.

Focusing on Statehood Demand, Delhi Chief Minister said that 85% of employment in the national Capital will be reserved for the people of Delhi while the same will be done Educational Institutions.

Alleging bias against Delhi, Kejriwal said People of Delhi gives 1.5 Lakh Crores to Centre as Income Tax however, Centre spends only Rs 325 crore on Delhi while Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh get Rs 26,000 crore and Rs 1.5 lakh crore, respectively. He added that Even Goa gets 3,200 crores.

Slamming the Bhartiya Janta Party, Kejriwal said that the ruling party should clear its stand on the issue. He said, ‘Delhi BJP Chief Manoj Tiwari has said that he is not in favour of statehood while Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2014 promised full statehood. BJP should clear its stand’.

While responding to a query by a scribe over the alliance with Indian National Congress, Kejriwal said that AAP is winning on all seven seats. He accused the Congress of keeping the party’s interests at the pedestal.

Earlier on February 23, Arvind Kejriwal while speaking in Delhi Assembly said that he will start Indefinite Hunger Strike from March 1 for Full Statehood for Delhi. However, he later postponed his hunger strike amidst the Indo-Pak tension following Pulwama Terror Attack and Balakot Air Strikes.

Earlier on Yesterday, Shunting all doors for AAP, Congress President Rahul Gandhi Confirmed that Congress will not join hands with Aam Aadmi Party in Delhi. He also urged party’s Booth Workers to win all seven seats in the national capital in the upcoming General Elections 2019.

Congress President Rahul Gandhi comment came in the event organised by the party – Mera Booth Mera Gaurav – in order to reach out its Booth Workers ahead of the Lok Sabha Polls 2019.

With Poll dates are announced, all the parties are leaving no unturned to outdo each other and woo voters in the upcoming battle of ballots. General Elections are slated for April-May this year that would spread on Seven Phases starting from April 11 to May 19. Election Commission had on Sunday declared schedule for General Elections 2019.

Delhi will vote in a single phase on May 12, the sixth phase. Results for the crucial Lok Sabha Polls will be announced on May 23 four days after the 7th phase of voting.
