Samajwadi Party Leader and wife of Akhilesh Yadav, Dimple Yadav on Saturday filed her nomination paper from party’s stronghold Kannauj Lok Sabha Seat. On the Occasion, she was accompanied with SP SP president Akhilesh Yadav, Party’s number two Ramgopal Yadav, SP Leader Jaya Bachchan, and BSP general secretary Satish Chandra Mishra holding.

She had earlier in the day held a roadshow on the Samajwadi Rath in Kannauj. Dimple Yadav later in the day is expected to address a rally.

Earlier, Akhilesh Yadav had said that Dimple will not contest to the Lok Sabha elections. However, the party in its second list named Dimple Yadav from Kannauj.

‘The victory margin will be huge since there is an alliance between SP-BSP. BJP did not fulfill its promises and now to divert attention, it is using the security forces. It has been a failed government,” Dimple Yadav told news agency ANI ahead of filing nominations.

Dimple Yadav first contested the Lok Sabha Polls in 2009 and lost to Congress’ Raj Babbar from Firozabad Parliamentary seat. However, In 2012 By-polls she elected to Lok Sabha from Kannauj after her husband Akhilesh left the seat after being appointed as the Chief Minister of the state.

Later in 2014, Dimple Yadav was re-elected from Kannauj by defeating her nearest BJP rival Subrat Pathak with a slim margin of over 12,000 votes.

Samajwadi Party who has forged an alliance with BSP-RLD has so far declared a total of 28 candidates out of 37 seats allotted to it in a poll pact.

In the first list, the party has named Mulayam Singh Yadav from Mainpuri parliamentary seat. While in the Second list, the party has fielded Dimple Yadav, wife of Former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav stronghold Kannauj Lok Sabha Seat. The party has announced that it’s Chief Akhilesh Yadav will Contest from Azamgarh, Party Staunch Leader Azam Khan from Rampur Lok Sabha Seat.

Both BSP-SP has started rolling out names of Candidates for the mega battle of ballots for the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections 2019. BSP-SP combine in the state will take on BJP and Congress. BJP has taken Apna Dal(S), Nishad Party into its fold while Congress has also managed to ink poll tie-up with Mahan Dal, Apna Dal faction, Jan Adhikar Rally, others.

80 seats of the state will go to polls in all seven phases starting from April 11 till May 19. While Kannauj parliamentary seat will go to polls on April 23.

Counting of votes will take place on May 23, four days after the final round of Polling.

Opinion Polls have already suggested that with the Formation of Alliance with SP-BSP, BJP is set to lose big in Uttar Pradesh, that state that in 2014 General Elections elected 73 BJP MPs.
