On the eve of Eid-ul-Adha also known as Bakri Eid, the whole nation is in a celebratory mood. President Ram Nath Kovind and Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended their best wishes to people for the festival.

 

Images of celebration are surfacing over social media from various parts of the nation. Even the politically tensed Srinagar region saw the good footfall of people celebrating the festival. Earlier Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Satya Pal Malik also told the media that administration is very much prepared for the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha, he assured that arrangements have been made for over 2.55 lakh goat/sheep and there will be a proper celebration of the festival.

Vice-President of the nation Venkaiah Naidu also expressed his warm greetings to his country people. He said that the festival inspires feelings of brotherhood, compassion, and unity.

On the occasion, devotees gathered in high numbers to offer namaz (morning prayer). The festival of sacrifice is said to fall on the 10th day of Dhu al-Hijjah as per the Islamic lunar calendar. People buy and sacrifice animals that are close to them to prove their devotion and worship and love for Allah.

People gathered at Hamidiya Masjid in Maharasthra, Jama Masjid in Delhi, Idgah Masjid in Bhopal and other places to celebrate the festival with zeal and happiness.
