CBI (Criminal Bureau of Investigation) has indicated on its plan to start a formal probe in the Narsingh Yadav doping scandal soon. According to the claim the central agency made today, it has already started to gather details about the case which was forwarded to it by the Prime Minister’s office recently.

Sources from CBI indicated that they have received some information and material on the verge of the complaint received by WFI (Wrestling Federation of India). The same is under examination and based on the output, it’ll be decided on whether to start with the preliminary inquiry or an FIR in the coming weeks.

Narsingh Yadav, the Indian wrestler was tested positive in repeated examinations for some banned substances. The reports first came out around 3 weeks before the start of Olympics. He was once given a clean chit by WFi, however, right before his match at the olympics, he was declared disqualified and handed over a ban of 4 years from professional wrestling by the Court of Arbitration. WFI was voicing its case since then and was particular for a probe by CBI in the same.

Narsingh had reported a conspiracy against him stating that his food and drinks were altered in the hostel where he was practicing ahead of the Olympics. NADA (National Anti-Doping Agency) had first given him a clean chit, however, later his case was rested at CAS in Switzerland where he was handed over a ban of 4 years.
